Congratulations on 12 years as Executive Director DR MORGAN CARPENTER. 3 photos of Morgan shown- one is a younger Morgan, pale man with dark hair and neatly trimmed facial hair. He is wearing a red, blue and white checked shirt. Another is Morgan delivering a speech- he is wearing glasses and wearing a white shirt and tan jacket. Main photo is of Morgan recently. He is wearing gold rimmed glasses, is smiling broadly and his hair has greyed from earlier days. He is wearing a blue grey jacket with intersex lapel pin.

Today we celebrate 12 years of visionary leadership from Dr Morgan Carpenter, who has steered the evolution of what began as OII Australia, became Intersex Human Rights Australia, and now operates proudly as InterAction for Health and Human Rights.

Morgan’s unwavering commitment to intersex advocacy, policy reform, and human rights has reshaped the landscape in Australia and beyond. From challenging harmful medical practices to championing visibility and inclusion, his work has empowered countless individuals and communities.

Morgan has articulated his particular interest within the intersex movement as being “to build community, and coherent, ethical and effective infrastructure -including regulation, norms, and community-controlled organisations.”

Thank you, Morgan, for your courage, intellect, and relentless pursuit of justice. Here’s to the legacy you’ve built- and the future you continue to shape.
