InterAction Welcomes Paul Sheldon & Faye Whan to the Team!
InterAction for Health and Human Rights is thrilled to announce Paul Sheldon has joined our team to work as a Peer Navigator for InterLink Psychosocial Service. We are also equally thrilled to announce Dr Faye Whan has joined our team to work as a Training Coordinator for InterAction and our Yellow Tick Program.

Paul was born in Perth Western Australia / Whadjuk Nyoongar country. Although he has lived and travelled elsewhere in Australia, family and fate brought him back 10 years ago and it's the place he knows and loves. Paul has had the privilege of an extensive 28 years career in nursing, he has worked in various specialty areas across the board from aged care through to emergency departments, and for the last 11-12 years he has been working in mental health.
He had a life changing moment in his mid 50's (approx. 2-3 years ago now ) after stumbling across an ABC programme and realising that there are other people like him "and that we are intersex." After reaching out to the InterAction, referenced at the end of that show he feels blessed to have connected with other astounding intersex people via peer support through IPSA, Interlink and now as an InterAction employee. Paul is very pleased to have recently stepped into the role of Peer Navigator and looks forward to connecting with other intersex individuals, their families, other organisations in this space plus the wider community to share education, connection and support.

Faye is an intersex educator and medical researcher, peer support worker and advocate who lives and works on Kaurna land. She has been focused on educating and advocating for the intersex community in South Australia for the last several years, particularly in LGBTQIA+ community spaces and organisations. She volunteers to run support groups and provides lived experience peer support.
Faye gets excited about teaching and learning. She believes that knowledge is the bridge to understanding and humanity. She has a background in medical research, higher education and training delivery with the firm belief that lived experience should be at the centre of everything we do. She wants to show that intersex people are people that are cherished, celebrated and supported. She is working towards educating everyone to have the knowledge and tools to support people with innate variations of sex characteristics
Welcome Paul & Faye to the team!
