Give Out Day 2023

According to recent Australian research, registered “LGBTIQ+ organisations receive just 5 cents out of every $100 received by Australian charities”. Resourcing for intersex-led and intersex-focused work is a fraction of that fraction.

Call for IHRA Board Members

Are you a person who is active in human rights and/or advocacy for people with innate variations of sex characteristics? Would you be interested in joining a national Board to help make further progress in Australia and internationally?

Vote Yes to the Voice

Intersex Human Rights Australia unanimously supports the establishment of an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice in this year’s referendum. We encourage anyone who meaningfully engages with human rights issues to vote yes in the referendum on 14 October.

Welcoming Natalie Hamam!

We’re pleased to announce that the IHRA family has grown again with the addition of Natalie Hamam, an occupational therapist who lives on Wiradjuri Country, Albury NSW. Nat joins Bonnie as part of the Interlink team, adding capacity for more groupwork sessions as well as individual counseling.

Intersex flag

10 years of the intersex flag!

Ten years ago today, this site publicly introduced the intersex flag to the world for the first time. The design by Morgan Carpenter incorporated colours in yellow and purple, unassociated with gender.
