Intersex studies email list
This list seeks to foster the development of this field, and promote links between academics, researchers and advocates. The list will operate within a human rights-affirming framework. It is open without geographic restrictions and most posts are anticipated to be in English.
About the Group
In recent years, intersex studies has begun to develop as an interdisciplinary field, with conferences at:

List owners are Dr Agli Zavros-Orr (education and pedagogy, Federation University, and DiversityWise), Dr Aileen Kennedy (law, University of New England), and Dr Morgan Carpenter (bioethicist and Associate Professor, University of Sydney School of Public Health). All three are directors of IHRA.

Welcome to this new intersex studies email list!
In recent years, intersex studies has begun to develop as an interdisciplinary field, with conferences at the University of Surrey, University of Bologna and University of Lincoln. This list seeks to promote intersex studies, promote links between academics and researchers in intersex studies and advocates working on human rights, health and other issues affecting intersex people.
The list has no geographic restrictions. It is anticipated that the working language will usually be English.
The list will operate within a human rights-affirming framework, and respect a diversity of lived experiences and viewpoints on nomenclature. Members should avoid stigmatising language and be respectful of other members. Racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic and transphobic language will not be tolerated.
The list is initially managed by three academic directors of Intersex Human Rights Australia. List members share responsibility for encouraging good behaviour. Individual list postings are not moderated. The managers reserve the right to moderate some individuals or remove individuals from their list for breaches of these list norms.
Please do not re-post the contents of posts by members without their explicit permission, or unless marked as a document for public distribution. The list is intended to foster diverse voices and viewpoints.
