Five years ago, Tony Briffa had a letter published in the journal Nature. OII Australia fully supports the call made by Tony for protection of the right to physical integrity. Indeed, this is a core goal of our organisation.
Tony Briffa, our Vice President, is getting married to Manja today in council chambers in Dunedin, NZ. Tony is a Councillor and former Mayor of Hobsons Bay, Victoria.

From March 11-23, I had the profound honour of travelling from Australia to New York to participate in the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW70) and Outright International's Advocacy Week. This journey was not just a trip across the globe, but a vital mission to advance intersex rights on the international stage and connect with fellow advocates from around the world.
The Victorian Parliament has passed the Health Safeguards Bill, protecting the health and wellbeing of children with innate variations of sex characteristics.

Our Australian staff and board live and work on First Nations lands. We recognise that sovereignty over this land was never ceded and that this always was and always will be Aboriginal land. We acknowledge the continued connection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to land, waterways and community and pay our respects to all First Nations people.
