Five years ago today, Organisation Intersex International Australia Limited was officially registered by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission as a not-for-profit company.

Morgan Carpenter was a plenary speaker at Courageous Voices, the LGBTI Mental Health Conference 2014. The event was held on 26-27 June at the Pullman Sydney Hyde Park Hotel, 36 College Street in Sydney.
OII Australia has begun to participate in international action on SOGI and LGBTI issues, with the aim of promoting a better of understanding of intersex issues, and working towards the depathologisation of intersex variations. This includes work towards the recognition and inclusion of intersex status or bodily diversity in international resolutions and frameworks.
ILGA, the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, has been an important actor in bringing together the international intersex movement. To date, ILGA, and its European grouping ILGA-Europe, have brought together activists from all permanently inhabited continents for three annual forums.
OII Australia has made a submission to the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) on the deselection of intersex traits using Assisted Reproductive Technologies.
The Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society and Val's Café is partnering with OII Australia to understand the needs of older intersex people. This information will be used to develop educational resources to aged care service providers to improve services.
