Gwen Smith

InterLink Peer Navigator

Gwen is an intersex woman deeply committed to peer support, particularly through fostering group connections where she engages as a participant, peer support worker, or co-facilitator. She has served on the board of Intersex Peer Support Australia and currently acts as a co-representative for Victoria, Australia. Gwen works as a peer support navigator with

Interlink and contributes to multiple advisory groups that guide government and NGOs on intersex issues. A strong advocate of person-centred, somatic and trauma-informed psychotherapy, she is completing her bachelor’s in counselling and psychology while undergoing training in psychodrama and emotion-focused therapy. She is passionate about creating pathways for intersex individuals to connect with health providers who can enhance their physical and mental well-being. She believes that with the right support and by connecting intersex people with peers, they can reclaim their agency and lead fulfilling lives.
