Kylie grew up in Shepparton, Victoria and discovered she was Intersex at 22yrs of age. Kylie joined Intersex Peer Support Australia (IPSA, then named the AIS Support Group Australia) in 1996, meeting her first intersex companions while studying Animal Science in Melbourne. She became Victorian representative of Intersex Peer Support and has enjoyed meeting intersex people globally. Travelling 90 countries, she attended support group meetings in the United States (Boston) and the United Kingdom (Oxford), along with predominantly travelling to see animals in their natural habitat, and holding a love for international cultures and food.
Returning from travelling, she has worked in the travel industry for the past 21 years. After being on her own healing journey in the past year, Kylie felt the call to dedicate her time to valuable causes such as intersex human rights and bodily autonomy. Kylie is excited as Peer Support Coordinator to share her lived experience and help others find their voice to tell their stories. Attending many support groups since 1996, she understands the importance of belonging to a community as healing cannot be completed without belonging, understanding and support.
