Stephanie Saal is a passionate intersex advocate and a newly elected Director at the 2025 AGM for InterAction for Health and Human Rights (InterAction).
Bringing her valuable lived experience to the forefront, Stephanie has shared her personal story, including undergoing surgical interventions without informed consent, to advocate for legislative change that will protect future generations of intersex children.
She is the Queensland and Australian and Aotearoa youth representative for Intersex Peer Support Australia (IPSA), championing intersex bodily rights. Stephanie also serves on several community and LGBTIQ+ boards, providing advice and strategies to enhance and improve services for Queenslanders. Additionally, she is an interim General Committee Governance Member for the Queensland LGBTQIA+ Alliance to assist in its establishment and is a current member of the LGBTQIA+ Roundtable for the Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety.
Stephanie is dedicated to elevating intersex voices and working toward a society where the rights and autonomy of intersex people are fully recognized and protected, as well as ensuring parents are educated on how to best enhance the wellbeing of their intersex children.
