The NT government recently published exposure draft legislation to amend the Anti-Discrimination Act 1992 and IHRA was invited to provide a response.

In our view, the proposals are helpful in many respects, but unduly and unhelpfully narrow the definition of the proposed attribute of 'sex characteristics'. We propose an alternative definition, and also make proposals in relation to genetic discrimination and sport.
