Detail from the cover of the report, with the words "The state of intersex organizing"

The third edition of "The State of Intersex Organizing" has been released today and the report provides an in-depth analysis of the work being done by intersex activists globally. It highlights the growth of the intersex movement, especially since 2015, and the increasing number of organisations dedicated to intersex rights.

However, it also points out significant gaps in funding and resources, which hinder efforts for bodily autonomy, safety from medical and state harm, and freedom from social exclusions and violence. The report includes findings from a global survey, case studies, and recommendations for supporting intersex organising.

The report states:

"The intersex movement serves an extremely diverse population, including infants, children, teenagers, and adults; individuals and families; patients and ex-patients; citizens, refugees, and asylum- seekers; and people with all kinds of gender identities and sexual orientations. The same movement that provides personal support also trains health practitioners, reports to human rights institutions, drafts law bills, advocates for them to be passed, and monitors their implementation. In many cases, the same intersex activists and organizations work locally and nationally, regionally and internationally."

With regards to the reach, capacity and funding of intersex organisations globally, the report highlighted some important statistics- featured in the images shown.
